Sherwood, Founder: Andy is the Founder of Goodrich Capital
and the Managing Director of Goodrich & Sherwood Executive Search, a
top ten international executive search firm. Mr. Sherwood’s
client base, attained over the past thirty years, includes more than
four hundred of the Nation’s top five hundred companies. Mr.
Sherwood has served on a number of corporate board of directors,
was Chapter Chairman of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO),
has been an advisor to two
past US Presidential Administrations, and in 2004 was awarded the
Ronald Reagan Freedom Medal. He received his degree with honors
at Nichols College in business, where subsequently he has been a
Trustee and a member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Sherwood has
completed graduate business study programs at Fairleigh Dickinson
University and Harvard University.
Robert E. Albus, President and CEO: In addition
to his M&A experience, Bob provides a financial, corporate marketing and
general management background to Goodrich Capital client companies.
He has worked with Private Equity firms as a senior operating executive
and Board advisor for the past five years. Prior to this he was
President of Premier Inc, a consumer products company he founded
and sold to Advanced Polymer Systems where he became President of
the Toiletry Division.
Bob began his career with Johnson & Johnson,
moved to CBS as Vice President of Business Development of WB Saunders
for the Publishing Group, and subsequently became Marketing Director
of Combe Inc. and General Manager of Combe Canada. Bob earned a
BA degree from Lafayette College and MBA from Lehigh University.
Andrew
P. Tothy, Senior Managing Director: Prior to Goodrich Capital,
Andy spent most of his career as a senior corporate finance officer
for three major investment-banking firms, Lazard Frères &
Co., Smith Barney, Harris Upham (now Citigroup) and
Wertheim & Co. (also now Citigroup). He has advised on and executed
many transactions for some of the world's largest international
companies in acquisition, divestiture and merger activities, as
well as smaller, middle market, public and privately held businesses.
Mr. Tothy is a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania,
and holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the NY Society
of Security Analysts, the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute
and the Association for Corporate Growth.
James A. Martin, Managing Director: In addition to his role as Managing Director for Goodrich Capital, Jay is currently a Co-Managing Member of Infinity Capital Group, LLC and is primarily responsible for establishing and implementing the firm’s investment policy and directing the research process. Jay is a member of the Investment Committee, responsible for the implementation of the investment policy. A graduate of Boston College, he began his investment career as a portfolio manager with Chase Manhattan Bank in 1969. In 1972, he received his MBA from Long Island University and relocated to Atlanta as a portfolio manager with Thornwell Investment Management, Inc. He co-founded Roe, Martin & Neiman, Inc. (RM&N), a registered investment advisor in 1972 and served as the firm’s Director of Research. Mr Martin bought out the investment management portion of Roe, Martin & Neiman In 1998, renamed the entity Sterling Investment Management, Inc. and is currently the Chairman and CEO of Sterling. Jay is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts since September 1985. He was instrumental in the formation of The Southeast Hedge Fund Association and serves on its board of directors. He previously served as the Chairman of the Alternative Asset Study Group for National Advisors Trust and is the Chairman of Atlanta’s Hedge Funds Care, a charitable organization supported by hedge fund managers nationwide. Jay is a frequent speaker on various topics concerning alternative investments and the investment management process.
Don Bringle, Associate: Don brings a wide array of experience to Goodrich Capital. Graduating from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1976, Don spent twenty-two years on active duty as a carrier aviator and Naval Officer. His tours included instructor duty at the Navy fighter Weapons School (TopGun), personal aide to Vice President George H. W. Bush, command of a deployed F-14 squadron, and four operational sea tours (nine deployments) to the Arabian Gulf, Indian Ocean and Western Pacific. After leaving the Navy, Don flew with United Airlines for just over five years when he then joined the Merrill Lynch Global Private Client Group in New York City. At Merrill Lynch, he grew his business and worked with high net-worth retail clients, corporate executives, business owners, company retirement plans, boutique investment banks, retired senior military officers and developed lasting relationships within the corporate and financial community. Don earned a Masters of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
Wesley Frith, Advisor: Wes is a Managing Director of Windsor Sheffield, a full service broker/dealer in Wayne PA. He serves as an advisor to Goodrich Capital. Wes has held a number of management positions in both public and private companies including owning and operating several businesses. He had a 10 year sales career with IBM and then joined an independent telephone company responsible for sales and operations. He helped them grow and position them to be acquired. Later, he purchased a distribution company and after achieving significant growth sold it to a strategic buyer. Wes then joined Frith Brothers Investments, a full service brokerage firm. They were a leader in the development and marketing of continuous equity programs in the 1990s. He became the Managing Partner and owner and later sold the company to its employees. Later, he worked as a consultant with firms that marketed continuous equity products including Cantor Fitzgerald and Mellon Financial. After graduation from the University of Delaware he served in the Marine Corp. He and his family live in Bucks County, PA Wes serves on the advisory board for an organization that focuses on creating job opportunities for disabled veterans.
Whitney S. Williams, Controller: Whitney brings over fifteen years of general management and client relation experience to Goodrich Capital, working in all aspects of the firm and its affiliated businesses. Before joining Goodcap, Whitney managed human resources and the accounting department for a small Denver-based, award winning engineering firm, handling operations, communications, client relations, and contract administration. Prior to that, she worked as Operations/Office Manager for a New York-based executive outplacement, executive search firm. In this role, she managed operations for the Connecticut practices as well. Whitney currently serves as Vice President for the New York headquarters of Goodrich & Sherwood Consulting for Senior Executives in Career Transition. An alum of Tufts University and a graduate of the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, Whitney is very active in raising money for children’s charities, loves the outdoors and spending time with her three beautiful children.
Jeffrey Albus, Project Manager: Jeffrey is a member of the transaction team and coordinates research activities. Jeff leads the environmental practice, which is a key area of focus for the firm. His keen interest and understanding of environmental matters provides an important insight for qualifying transactions in this space. Jeffrey graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University in 2007. He is a member of the New York Road Runners and actively competes in triathlons during the summer months.
